Hellooo newsletter readers! This one is actually filled with REAL NEWS! And it’s probably most meaningful to those of you who live here in my town of Charleston, South Carolina, especially since there’s a fun real life event involved (keep reading to the end for that bit).
So, yes, as my very leading headline suggests, change is afoot. After 10 years of involvement (including a pandemic – so basically 100 years lol), I am phasing out of my position at Edmund’s Oast Restaurant. Some of you might have read the recent news of EO becoming part of the Indigo Road hospitality group. And first things first, I am 1000% supportive of this move. But change invites change. And while I am a little sad, a little scared, and definitely don’t have it all figured out I am very excited about my next chapter. Honestly, I have been yearning for a slower pace for a while now, and while I achieved some of that upon the closing of Edmund’s Oast Exchange I will truly cross over into a more relaxed state of mind this spring.
BUT have no fear, I will indeed be continuing on with my wine club and classes, both of which I operate out of the terrific wine shop/wine bar: Wine & Company. And I am even more energized about those and certainly appreciate all those who support my micro business known as Grape to Table.
What could the future hold? Possibly more classes both at Wine & Company and who knows maybe at other locations? More attention to this newsletter and truly fleshing it out as I have always imagined? More writing? Getting back to my freelance journalist roots? Home wine dinner planning? More volunteering – definitely! So many possibilities! But of course there will certainly be plenty of quality time spent at the table with loved ones, home cooked meals, and delicious wine! Plus plenty of belly rubs and general adoration of my senior dog Jaco!
BUT before we get to all that I do have one more very fun event at EO and a chance to teamwork with my forever work fam there. This event was inspired by one of our assistant managers who noted that since we have such a strong girl staff we should do a Girl Power Wine Night featuring all female winemakers on a special by-the-glass menu AND our badass lady staff. So, it’s happening on Monday, March 31 – final day of Women’s History Month! Join us from 5 to 9 p.m. to hang with me and these baddies and raise a toast to all the girl power. This is in addition to our regular half priced wine night (and it’s just our regular dinner menu as far as food goes). Reservations can be made on Resy or by calling 843-727-1145. And yes, I do highly recommend reservations!

P.S. If you want to know the full story on the EO & Indigo Road partnership please check out this story from The Food Section and the amazing Stephanie Burt by clicking here. I will be leaving the EO wine program in the good hands of Indigo Road’s wine director Vonda Freeman (another strong female hospitality professional!).
P.P.S. Make sure you are subscribed to my newsletter for all sorts of fun, but I definitely plan on having my late spring/summer wine class schedule out soon – it’s a deep dive into Italy! For now, my newsletter is free and you can find all the content by clicking here – basically a little Grape to Table website created by the great folks at Substack. I did realize recently that you only see the various categories of past newsletters if you open this link in a browser (rather than the Substack app). It’s a shame because the categories make it easy to find content you might be interested in…so here are some more embedded links! Click here for Wine Tips. Click here for Recipes. Click here for Q & As. As always I really appreciate when you hit the like button as it helps get the content in front of more people :) and spread the joy of wine and food
Good luck with whatever comes next for you! I am sure you'll rock!
Excited for your next chapter. Change does invite change and I know this change will bring the magic!!! ✨✨✨
