Love this Sarah! I’m just catching up and love the stories. I too was a fanatic cook very young. Mostly because it gave me access to the kitchen and a reason for being in it. My mom worked nights waitressing in the 1960s so I began learning how to cook so I could have a decent dinner and cooked for 7 from the beginning.
