Hellooooo faithful readers!
Thanks for sticking with me as I have taken some time to contemplate my newsletter moving forward. The short conclusion is that yes, I will be continuing to create and with even more content. I plan to still keep most of the content free, but I will either turn on pledges at some point or possibly make my recipe focused content come at a marginal fee. I have considered all different avenues, but the bottom line is that I would still like for my content to reach as many folks as possible since we are in such uncertain times (generally speaking) but specifically as related to the wine world.
So why change anything? Well, surprise, surprise, Substack is more likely to recommend your newsletter if you have the $$ element turned on as of course they also take a cut 😂 … and I get it … that’s the world we live in. There’s a fee and an algorithm for so much these days.
But enough of my philosophizing. Just wanted to give an update. Please let me know what you think. I would love some feedback. I have also considered giving a % of any subscription money to a local non-profit (like the Lowcountry Food Bank!).
You can also let me know of any topics you would most like to see covered, but my plan is to stick with my favorite topics – wine tips, recipes, and interviews with folks in the food and beverage world. Plus, I will continue to remind you about my wine club 😀
I still plan on an early Sunday morning (EST) delivery date but let me know if you feel strongly about a better time of da/weeky!
Thank you again and again for all of the support! Cheers!!
P.S. If you are just picking up the Grape to Table newsletter, thanks so much for joining to learn more about wine, food, and life. There’s lots to read – from my origin story (click here to read) to fun content focused on meaningful time at the table with delicious wine and food. For now, my newsletter is free and you can find all the content by clicking here – basically a little Grape to Table website created by the great folks at Substack. I did realize recently that you only see the various categories of past newsletters if you open this link in a browser (rather than the Substack app). It’s a shame because the categories make it easy to find content you might be interested in…so here are some more embedded links! Click here for Wine Tips. Click here for Recipes. Click here for Q & As. As always I really appreciate when you hit the like button as it helps get the content in front of more people :) and spread the joy of wine and food!
P.P.S. Please save the date if you live here in Charleston, South Carolina…on Saturday, May 31, from 3 to 6 (we changed the time slightly), I will be co-hosting a ROSÉ SHOWDOWN with my good friend Josh Walker, owner of Wine & Company (wine bar/bottle shop, corner of Meeting and Spring in downtown Charleston). This is going to be SUPER fun! We are still working out the details, but you can expect tasting time with Josh and myself, delicious rosé by-the-glass, and special rosé snacks curated by us.
I really want to come to the Rose Showdown!!!! I am manifesting I’ll be able to if I can convince Kevin haha!
